For the first time we will be offering a camp during the April vacation, starting on Monday, April 9th through Friday, April 13th.  It will be held at Cloonan Middle School from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.  This is a pilot program that will be open to 20 campers.  We will have 10 spots available for full pay campers and 10 spots available for free/reduced lunch students.  This camp will be a combination of drumming during the morning sessions and adventure activities during the afternoon sessions.  Lunch will be provided.

Kevin Markarewicz, who facilitated our drumming activity last summer, will join us in the mornings for the drumming instruction.  Kevin and our adventure facilitator Corey will provide an outstanding and unique group drumming program. Through, drumming games, improvisation, learning specific rhythms and discussion, campers will develop: attention and focus, problem solving, becoming socially-emotionally attuned as well as positive peer engagement. With or without having any particular music background, this group drumming will provide campers the experience of feeling inspired, confident, and connected.

In addition to the morning drum sessions, we will set aside some time each morning to either have sports activities in the Cloonan gymnasium or an academic block so students can work on any homework they have been assigned over break.

Afternoons will be outside doing adventure activities.  Each afternoon, campers will participate in a variety of adventure activities, including:  ropes course, indoor rock climbing, mountain biking & hiking.  We’re hoping that the weather will be favorable for getting outside and having some fun!

Spots are available on a first come, first serve basis.  This program is open to all new and returning Pathfinder campers.  Please feel free to call or email with any questions.  If you are interested in signing your child up, please call, email or stop by the YSB office on the 6th floor of Government Center.  You will not need to fill out an additional registration form since you already have for the summer program.
